Living Libation’s Seabuckthorn Best Skin Ever (BSE) Review

Product Description: Living Libations Seabuckthorn Best Skin Ever resets skin to its natural state of luminous, sparkling wonder! Its a lightweight, orange coloured oil

The seabuckthorn bse is the cheapest bse on the list, selling US$30 for 50ml, so I got it instead of the rose bse which I had really wanted. It claims to be an all in one product, for cleansing, exfoliating and moisturising, but I mostly use it as a facial moisturiser. I bought it when I was freakin out from my severe acne. It was my first time using facial oil as a moisturiser. Before the severe acne, I would just go for normal creams and lotions from mainstream cosmetic brands, so this was really a change for me.

The ingredients list for this oil (and every librations product really) is SPECTACULAR. It's great for extremely sensitive skin and the smell is amazing. It smells a little sweet and calming, everyone in my family loves the scent.

My skin didn't absorb the oil well on my first use for seabuckthorn bse. I squirted one full pump on my hands and lather it gently on my face. I didn't massage it in as my acne bumps were really painful and I didn't want to apply any pressure on them. I felt like the oil just sat on my skin without sinking in and my face felt greasy. Later I learnt that one third or half a pump of the product is good enough to moisturise the entire face without feeling any oiliness.

The oil absorbs well into the skin

To cure my severe acne I would drop 2 drops of tea tree oil into the seabuckthorn bse oil and apply. Of course, the smell changes when I add tea tree oil to it but it didn't bother me. This routine was really key to curing my acne. Tea tree oil is my ultimate acne killing solution. So I used it together with seabuckthorn bse as the carrier oil and my skin cleared up more effectively than the other acne products I've been using.

Sea buckthorn bse works best when you massage it into your face. Now that my severe acne is gone, I massage my face every time I use the oil because it absorbs much better into my skin this way. I always use the massage technique that buzbeauty, one of my fave Youtubers, have shared in her slimmer face video. I noticed that this oil gives a more radiant, clearer look whenever I massage my face with it so this is one of my favourite ways to use it.

But of course this doesn't mean that my skin is not prone to acne anymore. I still get minor breakouts sometimes. I know that there are many raves on the site suggesting that this product cured many skin issues. Many reviews also noted how great this product is for dealing with acne prone skin. But my skin is still prone to acne, i still get blackheads, enlarged pores, etc.. Basically issues people with oily skin deal with. This product is beauty as a moisturiser, but it doesn't deal with my skin problems. The ingredients used are a great blend and high quality but there are other cheaper oil blends in the market that can moisturise my skin well too. So this isn't an essential skincare item for me.

I used this oil a few times to as a body moisturiser and it is just gorgeous. It smells so good, moisturises beautifully and it even soothed the terrible insect bites my sister had. But as a body moisturiser, I realise that I needed about 2 pumps and that depleted the oil faster than I expected. So after considering that I paid so much for it, I just stuck to using this oil solely for my face to stretch every penny.

The seabuckthorn bse can also be used for cleansing and the method showed was by using a hemp cloth. I don't have a hemp cloth or anything like that so I took one pump of the oil and massaged it all over my face, then wiped it off with a wet towel. My face felt really moisturised after that but I'm still more comfortable to the conventional foam cleansing method.

I hesitated for a few months before purchasing living libations products because they are not cheap to me. Shipping fees took up a huge portion of my bill. This purchase along with the Dewdab kinda burnt a hole in my pocket. BUT I've been using this product since the start of last December, and until now in mid June and I only finished three quarters of the bottle!! And I use half a squirt once or twice daily. A little goes a long way for this product and many facial oils because you only need a few drops to moisturise your whole face. So I would say that this purchase was really worth it.

Living libations claims that orders are shipped within one week of orders being placed to ensure product freshness.Shipping service for the cheapest small packet international air takes about 8-10 weeks for where I live. It took really long for the products to arrive. But there's nothing to worry about because the products came in perfect condition and I even received a complementary tote bag.

Would I purchase this oil again? Nope. Because I currently am studying and pretty much broke. So I plan to try out other more affordable facial oil blends and compare their effectiveness to the seabuckthorn bse before contemplating a repurchase. Overall, even though this oil is really a great as a moisturiser, it's not an essential item. But if you're looking for an organic, high quality, vegan facial/body oil blend with great smell and moisturising properties, then do consider this product!
